Hi Friends! Barely making it into your mailbox for March. š° I wish I could say itās because I was busy, but mostly itās because Iāve found a new obsession in Stardew Valley (a video game) and itās taking over my life. However, I did go on vacation in March to the stunning Pacific Northwest and a stomach bug had me in bed for a week, so not all my time was spent gaming.
In this newsletter Iām highlighting some of my favorite Spring activities to do with your friends in Denver, a little rundown of the last month, and in this monthās influencer tea section, the tea is quite mild but nevertheless important.Ā
A Look Back at March
I started the month of March with a tour of the Pacific Northwest. We started in Seattle, made our way down to the Oregon coast, where we stayed in the small town of Astoria, and then ended our trip in Portland. Out of the three spots we visited, I cannot recommend Astoria enough. It was a cute, quaint town that had some of the best breakfast food and we even got a personal magic show at dinner one night from the man who owned the magic store in town. Just small town things! You know places that speak to your soul? Well Astoria is one of mine; I havenāt felt that safe and relaxed in a long time. As for Seattle and Portland, thereās not much to write home about. However, a highlight of Seattle had to be the donut shop that was right next to our Airbnb that stayed open late. Weād grab a donut in the morning and then again at night when we were coming back from dinner - it was pure bliss.Ā
One of the most unique events I attended this month was the Frozen Dead Guy Days in Estes Park. A Colorado tradition that started in Nederland and recently moved to Estes. It was a three day extravaganza with programming all weekend long. Most of it was fun, but I think itās safe to say that it is probably more fun if you are participating in ārecreational activitiesā. Regardless, I am so glad to have experienced it!Ā
As for cool Denver centric events recently, I canāt stop thinking about the Wine and Chocolate Pairing class I took at Noble Riot. It wasnāt stuffy or boring and I actually ended up learning what makes wine taste better. š¤Æ I possibly found my new go-to bunch spot at Jaques LoHi, and I finally got to dine at Death and Coās winter speakeasy 6A. 6A has been on my list since I started influencing 2 years ago so it felt great to cross it off my list. Influencer Tea
As stated above, the tea is rather mild this month. Last month we tackled a rather large topic that Iād love to briefly expand on. I want to say thank you to all the people who reached out and said that I validated their experiences with what I wrote in my last newsletter. So many people expanded on their uncomfortable experiences with the man I mentioned, proving that this is a consistent problem. I also want to say thank you to all the PR people who reached out and thanked me for shedding light on this issue that they heard rumblings about but didnāt have any direct knowledge.
Even though I did not list his name, it was rather staggering how many people reached out instantly knowing who I was talking about. This type of reputation is so toxic to our small Denver creator community, and I hope that we continue to hold all creators to a higher standard that promotes respect and safety for all. Hereās to growing this community in a positive and encouraging way and saying goodbye to the men who make it uncomfortable.
Wow, nice blog! You seem to be someone who's got a great attitude and is living life to the fullest.
