Hi friends! Coming to you sheepishly as April slipped away without a newsletter, but as the title suggests, I’ve quit - a few things! We’ll get into it, but TL:DR, I’ve decided to step away from some projects so I have more time to do things that fill me with joy (like this newsletter!). In this month's newsletter we’re getting into what’s been going on, activities to add to your Denver Summer Bucket List, and in the influencer tea section we’re calling out a snitch. 😱
A Look Back at April
Around my birthday, everyone kept asking me what I wanted for my upcoming 28th trip around the sun. The first few times I was asked this question I was taken aback, I didn’t have anything prepared - I don’t know, escape the continuous, debilitating realization that time continues to pass us by and that our time on the earth is fleeting? 🤷🏻♀️ But when I sat with that question, I realized that what I really want for this year is to set myself up for success in my 30’s. I’m all for living in the moment and seeing where life takes you, but I have some big aspirations and it’s time to lay the groundwork for those plans.
A huge part of that groundwork included taking a step back from a few commitments. I have the tendency to say “yes, absolutely, sign me up” when someone asks for help, but ultimately I found that internally I was screaming for help, for less work, and to slow down. The metaphor I use is that I'm at the stove but I have too many pots on the stove and not enough burners, so some of my food is turning cold because I don’t have any heat to give them. So, I’ve decided to take some pots off of my stove. I have some really great things cooking, so I’m going to focus on those pots. So what does that look like? Basically I’ll be doing a little less, finding time to reflect and rest, and finding time to heat up what’s already cooking. Looking at you Hi Neighbor! 👀
In terms of fun things I’ve done in Denver in April/mid May, I had two super new and unique experiences. The first was taking a purse making class at the Art Students League of Denver. The class lasted 6 hours long, and by hour 4 I thought I might call it quits, but the desire to say I’ve made my own purse was too strong. The Art Students League of Denver is truly such a Denver gem, and I’m so glad to now know about it.
The other new experience couldn’t be further from crafting - I attended the Two Friends concert at Red Rocks and took a party bus up to the show. Now I don’t know about you, but I’ve never been in a party bus before, and despite living in the EDM capital of the world, I wouldn’t say I enjoy EDM. HOWEVER, oh my god, consider me a basshead, and sign me up for all the party buses! My friend Michelle and I had an amazing time, and (much to our surprise) we were given VIP tickets, so we got to see the show up close and personal. See some of the photos below!

Activities to add to your Denver Summer Bucket List
Visit the New Biophilia Exhibit at the Denver Art Museum 🌱
The Biophilia Exhibit is a must this summer. The exhibition took 10 years to curate and is complete with interactive and rare pieces. PRO TIP: Go on the night they do their Untitled: Artist takeover it’s basically like night at the museum for adults
Grab a glass of wine at Denver’s new wine bar, Corsica 🍷
Corsica has now become one of my favorite spots for a quick Happy Hour with the girls or for date night. A summer sangria on their patio would hit just right
Dancing night away at Ophelia’s 🥂
We love a one stop shop. Go on a themed night where you know the artist they are spinning and get some dinner followed by going downstairs and dancing the night away
Catch some live music at Denver’s new Music Hall 🎶
Denver’s been needing a new music hall and Two Moons boasts live music every night of the week, and each night has a different theme. For example, Thursdays are either Latin or Honky Tonk - what a mix
Attend a Hi Neighbor event 👋
Of course I want to plug my own business! Summer is better with friends, so come to one of our events and meet some people to do this Summer’s activities with. You can stay updated on our upcoming events via our Instagram
Influencer Tea: The Golden Snitch
I’m a detective, and I’ve been on this case for a few months now. Here’s the situation: I heard that someone was telling my information to someone else, who told it to someone else and that information eventually made its way back to me. In other words, someone was sharing my business out with the world - and that’s not ok. My much more rational minded friends told me that I shouldn’t try to find out who the snitch was, but when the offender offered themselves up on a platter, what can I do but accept the dish?
In a much less lighthearted tone, it hurts to have someone you think you could trust share information that they know they shouldn’t have. I don’t think their gossiping was malicious in any way, and sometimes we accidentally share information that we know we shouldn’t have. Regardless, I think it’s time to tighten up the circle and keep some things closer to the chest. And no, I will never be sharing the names of the involved parties, I’ve learned my lesson.
I'm glad you're taking time to relax and enjoy life more.
